Ahhh those lips...

One of our most beautiful yet neglected body parts. So much is invested into these beauties in terms of: balms, glosses, lipsticks, lip fillers, lip blush color tattooing. Still for some they still aren’t as juicy as we want them to be.

How can this be? With all of the time and money spent we are still missing one crucial step.

E X F O L I A T I O N !

Let's get into it. Our lips need and love daily exfoliation. Think about this we exfoliate our skin weekly, or we should anyway in an effort to remove dead skin cells, and make ourselves all shiny and new again! This is especially for our make up covered faces because it's the first line of defense against the world as we step out of our homes since our bodies are covered in clothing. So our lips are no different except that our lips are pretty much slathered with some type of product pretty much 24/7, and we wonder why we're dealing with constant dryness?

So to fix this issue we’re going to add daily exfoliation. I can feel you rolling your eyes thinking, ” I have to add another step to my already 27-step skincare routine?!” The short answer is yes, but we're gonna keep it easy. Luckily there are a variety of products that we can use to help. The least expensive and in my opinion most effective would be a baby tooth brush. Once you're done with brushing your teeth, take the baby toothbrush and simply brush your lips for about 15-30 seconds. Do this twice per day. You can also find sugar scrubs specifically formulated for the lips that you can also use twice per day. Lastly, another thing find collagen lip masks, which I suggest using once per week. These are actually pretty great when you cant find some that have really good ingredients, like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, E, and peptides. The best day for this will probably be on your weekend when you're getting your glow on!

Here's the secret sauce recipe I suggest:

-Scrub the lips using your method or product of choice

-Apply a drop of your hyaluronic acid serum on the lips for added hydration and plumpness you can read more about hyaluronic acid in my previous blog post here.

-Seal in all that love with a nourishing, petroleum & silicone-free lip balm

-1x per week apply a collagen lip mask

The result: it’s like a hug for your lips and they’ll will always be the freshest and juicest around!!

Until next time,
